Rainbow Seniors of Berkshire County holds a monthly discussion meeting, that is often topic based. Past themes have include talks about Asexuality, Assimilation of the LGBTQ Community, Poetry, LGBTQ authors, an interactive art project, interactive relaxation and stress relief exercise, Growing Up LGBTQ and much more. While topics are the theme of our meeting we also sojourn down various conversational pathways as we talk, often leading to truly enjoyable and thoughtful conversations.
Our monthly discussion meetings take place on the first Saturday of each month at the Berkshire Athenaeum from 2 to 4 PM in the 2nd floor conference room at 1 Wendell Avenue, unless otherwise noted.
2019 Meeting Dates:
Saturday, November 2nd, 2019: The Power of Words
Language is continuing to diversify within our community, across all generations, but particularly in the younger generations. This topic meeting will explore this shift in the use of language, especially with reclaimed words such as queer, that were once used as slurs (and still are in certain circles) and are now being used as identifying labels. A safe and non-judgmental space where we can share our thoughts feelings and opinions on this subject.
